Pre-Owned Yamaha YFH-631 Professional Bb Flugelhorn - Rose Brass Bell / Lacquer Finish
We have an absolute jazz-club legend on the bench today! The Yamaha YFH-631 is celebrated by doublers, commercial artists, and brass band soloists as one of the warmest, most dependable flugelhorns ever built. While modern models carry steep price tags, these coveted original Japanese-production 631s are famous for their effortless slotting, tight valve tolerances, and buttery, lyrical voice.
The secret to this horn’s gorgeous acoustic profile is its two-tone brass construction. Built with a resonant rose brass bell, it naturally delivers that smoky, pillowy, and dark ballad core that flugelhorn players crave. The yellow brass valve block and nickel silver slide trim add just enough acoustic definition so the sound never turns muddy in front of a microphone.
Carrying serial number 005740, this instrument has earned its stripes. It shows significant, honest lacquer wear and surface patina from years of active music-making, giving it an authentic vintage look. Mechanically, it is 100% benched, cleaned, and regulated by our repair team.
The Monel valves are lightning-fast, compression is tight, and it sings top-to-bottom. Complete with its original vintage Yamaha hard case, it’s a killer pro-level horn at an unbeatable player-grade price.
