This particular Selmer crystal mouthpiece looks very similar to the O'Brien crystal mouthpieces that were produced in the late 1970s and early 1980s. This includes features like the brass tenon cap, which was a common design element on the O'Brien crystal mouthpieces from that era.
The Clarion mouthpieces were made of crystal, which was a more affordable material compared to the metal and rubber mouthpieces Selmer had produced previously. They were designed to have a similar sound and style to the popular Brilhart Ebolin and Tonalin mouthpieces that were common at the time.
This mouthpiece was played recently by one of our technicians, despite the tip having a slight chip, the mouthpiece seems to be playing just fine.
