Schilke and Yamaha during the 1970s and early 1980s, these horns were built using Schilke-designed components; including their signature custom leadpipe; paired with precision manufacturing techniques. Sharing a similar specification profile to the classic Schilke B5, the MII is a nimble, highly responsive professional horn.
The Schilke Design Philosophy: Less is More Renold O. Schilke was a pioneer in applying scientific acoustic and nodal theories to brass instruments. His philosophy focused heavily on eliminating unnecessary weight and acoustic resistance to give the player total freedom of expression.

The Lack of Braces: Schilke instruments famously feature minimal bracing on the bell and valve casing. By removing traditional braces where possible, the instrument is allowed to vibrate with complete freedom, resulting in an exceptionally live feel in the hands and a more resonant, wide-open sound.
