It incorporates design modifications based on JodyJazz founder Jody Espina's customized personal mouthpiece, aiming to be incredibly versatile—fat, warm, and dark enough for beautiful ballads, yet with ample power and projection for contemporary styles.
This mouthpiece retains the core DV features like the Golden Section Proportions and the Patented Secondary Window for efficiency and rich harmonics, but with subtle baffle changes that rein in the brightness a tad. The result is a sound that feels "even less like a metal piece" than the other DV models. It is CNC-machined from bell brass and finished with heavy 24-karat gold plating. The Size 7 offers a professional tip opening of .083″ (2.11 mm), providing a fantastic balance of control, warmth, and cutting power.
