We have a vintage Buffet R13 on the bench today carrying serial number 91984. This isn't your standard off-the-shelf professional clarinet; it’s an older-wood R13 that has lived a very interesting life in the hands of a player.
Because of its custom modifications and unique history, we are offering this one as-is at a discounted price. It is a fully functioning R13 with gorgeous vintage wood and zero cracks, but it has some non-standard quirks that will appeal to the right player.
The Custom Modifications

Custom G#/C# Mechanism: Upgraded keywork modifications built to enhance mechanical reliability and action feel in the lower stack.

Metal Tenon Reinforcement: Features a metal tenon ring installed on the upper joint for added structural security.

Tenon Cork Modification: A small hole has been drilled directly through the tenon cork on the upper joint—a rare, vintage workshop mod designed by specific players to prevent vacuum lock or adjust joint suction.
Condition & Shop Inspection

Cosmetics: Vintage Player's Condition. The older grenadilla wood body is in great shape with a rich, dark grain and no cracks or major structural damage. It shows the honest patina of a well-traveled vintage instrument.

Mechanics: As-Is / Needs Final Adjustment. It is currently playing, but it will need a final tweak and adjustment by your own tech (or as an ideal winter project). We are pricing it accordingly to reflect its custom, heavily modified pedigree.
