Pre-Owned Benge Model 190 Professional Tenor Trombone - Clear Lacquer
We have a genuinely fascinating piece of American brass engineering on the bench today. This Benge 190 tenor trombone comes from an era when designers weren't afraid to throw out the rulebook to chase the ultimate orchestral voice.
The bell features a uniquely pinned joint right on the flare, and while it utilizes a rotor with a semi-open wrap, the F-attachment bend is exceptionally tight and compact. Flip it over to the main Bb side, and things get even wilder: the tuning slide features a reverse design straight out of custom trumpet geometry, paired with a noticeably wider overall stance.
Serial #981 on the rotor and #191383 stamped on the body. It’s finished in clear lacquer, wearing the honest character and minor patina of a professional horn that was built to be played hard.
