Pre-Owned Vincent Bach Stradivarius Model 42BO Professional Bb/F Tenor Trombone - Lacquer
We have the quintessential symphonic workhorse on the bench today! The Bach Stradivarius Model 42BO is the undisputed gold standard for orchestral trombone sections, coveted by collegiate majors, freelance professionals, and symphonic players worldwide. Known for its massive, broad, and heroic tonal core, the 42 defined the modern "American orchestral sound" and continues to anchor brass sections with unmatched authority.
The standout feature of this Model 42BO is its open-wrap F-attachment. Compared to traditional closed wraps, the open wrap uses fewer sharp bends in the F-attachment tubing, giving the player an incredibly free-blowing, natural feel with less resistance when engaging the rotor. Matched with an 8.5" one-piece hand-hammered yellow brass bell and a .547" large bore, this horn delivers effortless projection and a complex, colorful harmonic envelope.
Carrying serial number 102808, this consignment instrument has been lovingly played and exhibits standard, honest wear consistent with typical use. It has been fully vetted, chem-cleaned, and adjusted by our in-house master technicians. The handslide is fast, the rotor holds perfect compression, and it plays exactly like a great Bach should. It comes complete with its original vintage Bach wood-shell hard case.

Condition & Shop Inspection
-

No major structural trauma or deep dents.
-
Mechanics: Bench-Tested & Consignment-Approved. Our in-house brass technicians have completely went through, ultrasonically cleaned, and regulated the horn. The handslide is straight, fast, and smooth; the traditional rotor is quiet with tight compression, and all slides operate freely.
