We have a truly boutique, world-class instrument in the shop today. This is a highly customized, early-production Adams TB1 tenor trombone (Serial #055), hand-built by the master craftsmen at Adams Brass in the Netherlands.
This specific horn came to us from a local professional customer who babied it, but sadly had to switch setups due to a playing injury. It features a completely custom, two-tone bell and Adams’ proprietary Open Flow valve section. If you are a symphonic player, a conservatory student, or a soloist looking for an instrument with an incredibly warm, velvety core and lightning-fast response, this TB1 is an absolute dream to play.

Custom Two-Tone Bell: Features a stunning, hand-hammered lacquered Rose Brass bell throat that transitions into a brilliant silver-plated flare. The higher copper content of the rose brass provides a massive, warm, and lush tone, while the silver-plated end helps crystalize your articulations and projection.

Adams Open Flow Valve: Adams designed this proprietary rotary valve to have the incredibly short, quick throw of a traditional rotor, but with the massive, unrestrictive air column of an axial-flow valve. The low register is effortless and broad.

Custom "NS SB" Handslide: The slide receiver is stamped "NS SB", denoting a premium Nickel Silver and Single Bore (.547") configuration. It provides a brilliantly fast, slick action and excellent resistance balance against the open valve section.

Cosmetics: Great Professional Condition. This trombone was exceptionally well-maintained by its previous owner. The lacquer on the brass body and rose brass bell section is in great shape, and the silver-plated bell flare looks stunning. You may notice very minor, standard signs of use, but there are no major cosmetic issues.

Mechanics: Bench-Tested & Ready. Our in-house repair team has gone through this horn top to bottom. The handslide is butter-smooth (8.5 or 9 out of 10), the Open Flow valve is lightning-fast and perfectly quiet, and the tuning slides move effortlessly. It is 100% gig-ready.
