The much sought-after Selmer Mark VI saxophones are truly amazing horns that have held up over the test of time, and this instrument is no different.
The serial number (#209XXX) indicates this instrument was manufactured in 1973, one of the final years of the fabled Mark VI run right before Selmer started production of the Mark VII. The 1973 Mark VI alto saxophone has a longer pant-guard and a medium short bow. This alto saxophone bolsters its orginal lacquer with slight wear on the palm keys and other key touches. Slight surface scratches can be seen throughout the body of the saxophone, but these are purely cosmetic. The bottom stack D# key guard shows signs of being previously resoldered. The neck included with the saxophone shows no signs of pull down damage, but it seems likely that it was relacqured at some point, or may not be original with the horn. Also features the front F key which was optional on saxes of the era.
This pre-owned Selmer Paris Mark VI Alto Saxophone comes in great condition from its previous owner. Included with the instrument is a Pro-Pac Protec case for transportation.
