F. Lorée has been making some of the highest level double reed instruments in France since 1881. They are known around the world for the high quality. The Loree Professional Oboe is chosen by the vast majority of professional players in North America. This particular oboe was hand chosen by James B. Caldwell, oboe professor at Oberlin College in from 1971-2006, from the Lorée factory.
The bore style is not an AK bored model, but this style offers a less conical bore than other Lorée models, making it wider at the top and more consistent as the horn goes into the bell. Making this one of the most popular bore types in some parts of the world.
The conservatory mechanism of this oboe includes all trills, left hand F key, as well as forked F resonance and B flat resonance. Also features grenadilla body, silver-plated keys, custom thumb rest, and dual metal reinforced tenons. With its exceptional tonal qualities and professional features, the F. Loree Oboe is the perfect choice for the serious oboist.
This pre-owned model came to us in phenomenal condition. All pads are sealing and fully adjusted, mechanisms have been double checked and oiled if needed, and this oboe is in perfect playing condition. There is no evidence of any cracks or past crack repair. This oboe was professional owned and maintained throughout it's life. This oboe will ship in the original case, and will also come with the lockable Samsonite custom carrying case which has quite a few extra goodies! More pictures available upon request.
