We’ve got a fantastic step-up flute on the bench today carrying serial number 3041. If you aren't immediately familiar with the name, Dean Yang flutes were born out of a mission to bring elite, professional-level acoustic design and hand-cut headjoint performance down to a price point that advancing players could actually reach.
This one is nicely spec'd out for a serious student or gigging doubler. It features an open-hole design with an offset G setup, a B footjoint for extended low-register resonance, and includes the handy Gizmo key (high C facilitator) right where it should be on the B-foot setup. Instead of French pointed arms, it utilizes standard professional-style arm mechanics, and the whole thing comes housed in a really sharp-looking original hard case protected by a cool blue leather outer cover.
