While many Lotus horns are known for their heavy, dense "molten core" sound, the Lead/Solo is built to be lighter, brighter, and more agile, offering the perfect balance of modern projection and traditional resistance.
This is the "Ferrari" for the lead trumpet player, commercial musician, or salsa specialist. If you love the stability and slotting of a Lotus but found the "Solo" or "Max" models too heavy or dark for your taste, the Lead/Solo is the answer. It is designed to cut through the loudest ensembles with ease while retaining a fat, non-shrill core tone.
The Lead/Solo Difference
This model features the same internal geometry as the custom handmade Lotus horns but is optimized for high-energy playing.
Machined Leadpipe: Features a Machined Yellow Brass Leadpipe, which is milled from solid stock rather than drawn. This ensures absolute precision in the taper, resulting in incredible slotting stability and a "lock-in" feel for high notes.
Oversized Bell: Equipped with a 5.5" (140mm) Yellow Brass Bell. This is larger than a standard Bach 37/43 bell, giving you a wider projection pattern that fills the room without sounding thin.
