The JodyJazz HR* Custom Dark Alto Mouthpiece is the premium line of hard rubber mouthpieces from JodyJazz, designed to be the darkest and most beautiful sounding piece in their alto range. It targets professional and advanced players looking for a rich, velvety, and traditional jazz sound.
It is crafted from proprietary Chedeville® Hard Rubber (CHR), a purer, softer formula than standard ebonite, which contributes to its rich, warm timbre. The design features a Large Round Chamber and a beautiful rollover baffle that prevents "unpleasant highs," while a thick, heavy gold-plated brass band on the shank adds complexity and boosts harmonics to the sound. The size 8 offers a large tip opening of .090″ (2.28 mm), providing maximum air flow, a free-blowing feel, and a massive, warm core sound with excellent projection when pushed.
