The E. Rousseau ER50 Custom Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece is a premium classical mouthpiece made by JodyJazz in collaboration with Dr. Eugene Rousseau, commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Rousseau mouthpiece company. This model is inspired by the highly successful Rousseau NC4 but is designed for the modern classical player who prefers a feeling of increased control and resistance.

The ER50 Custom is created using JodyJazz’s state-of-the-art CNC machinery and is constructed from their proprietary Chedeville Rubber, a softer hard rubber compound known for producing a warmer, more nuanced sound. The mouthpiece also features a tapered gold-plated brass ring on the shank to enhance warmth, subtleness, and depth of sound.

The "Custom" designation signifies a shorter facing curve compared to the "Classic" model, which introduces a controlled resistance. This is intended to give the player enhanced control, particularly over articulation, intonation, and the altissimo register, while delivering a focused sound with great warmth and shimmering tone color.
