The historic YTS-61. Up until it's manufacture, if you were in the market for a pro horn your options were limited. You were either purchasing a Selmer Paris ($$$$), or going something a bit more vintage with a Conn, Buescher, or King. This was how it was, right through the '60s. Jazz as a popular form of music, was giving way to rock, r 'n b, soul, motown and nascent funk - and players were looking for something equally fresh and snappy. Enter the Yamaha YTS61. One of the first mass-produced professional horns really turned the market on it's head and seriously scared the big guys. After this sax placed Yamaha in the minds of players worldwide Yamaha has become a major manufacture of the highest-quality professional horns in the following years. It all started with the YTS-61. These saxes were produced from the late 60's (some say '68, '69, 'or '70). While the design of the 61 (and the later 62) has been updated over the years, the build quality is still very high. The horn came to us pre-owned but in great condition. A quick adjustment is all it needed to play full range. Pads are about 90% original. Ships in original case with original neck.
All of our pre-owned and new instruments come fully inspected by our in-house repair shop. If you have any questions or would like to make an offer, please feel free to contact us directly at the shop through our phone (713-426-3663) or email (email@example.com).
