The P. Mauriat PMXT-66RUL is legendary among tenor players who crave a massive, fat vintage spread with zero acoustic restrictions. Built from bare French brass and left completely unlacquered, this horn lets the raw metal resonate to its fullest potential, producing a dark, smoky, and complex tone with serious punch.

What truly sets the 66R apart is its genuine rolled tone holes. Unlike drawn tone holes with soldered rings, Mauriat draws and rolls these tone holes directly from the body tube brass. This creates a broader, rounded contact surface for the pads, resulting in a noticeably softer, quieter key action, extended pad life, and a broader, warmer acoustic response. Paired with Mauriat’s oversized bell flare and the acclaimed Super VI neck taper, this instrument delivers effortless sub-tones on the bottom end and singing flexibility through the altissimo.

Key Features & Specifications

True Rolled Tone Holes: Drawn and rolled seamlessly from the body tube metal to create a superior acoustic seal, darker resonance, and whisper-quiet mechanical action under the fingers.

Raw Unlacquered Brass: Free of any exterior lacquer or plating dampening the vibrations, allowing for instantaneous dynamic response and developing a rich, unique vintage patina over time.

Super VI Professional Neck: P.
