"The DV NY (also known as the “DV New York”) will appeal to the Straight-Ahead player looking for the best playing and sounding mouthpiece that they can find. The mouthpiece is based on the popular JodyJazz DV model but has several modifications, the most significant being a deep chamber. The DV NY Alto produces a darker, less bright tone than the contemporary sound of the regular DV. The deep baffle/chamber design of the DV NY produces a beautiful Classic Jazz Alto sound reminiscent of the masters of the 40's, 50’sand 60’s.The DV NY has received an incredibly positive response from all players and most importantly Jody himself is in love with the mouthpiece. The patented ‘Secondary Window’ design was created using the Golden Section Proportions. This perfect chamber/bore/facing combination results in an extraordinary playing experience. A 24kt Gold-Plated mouthpiece hand finished and play-tested at the JodyJazz factory in Savannah, GA."
