The Edwards B502-I-Y bass trombone is one of the finest instruments available on the market today. Crafted by hand in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, this is the signature instrument of James Markey, bass trombonist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The B502-I-Y is suitable for the discerning professional musician.
This preowned instrument comes in great functional shape. The handslide is smooth, the valves have great action with no resistance, and the tunings slides are easy to move. The combination of a dual bore slide and AR rotors give this bass trombone a large, warm, and immediate sound. The only cosmetic things to note are previous dent mutes that can be found on the throat of the bell, along with slight spots of lost lacquer. Another thing to note is that the original wooden thumb lever for the F attachment was not with this horn and a plastic one was used as a replacement.
