In the 90's Dave Guardala was a primo mouthpiece designer and his mouthpieces were used by some of the top professionals around the world. Before the end of his career he contracted German manufacturer B&S to stencil some horns for his dealers. These saxophones ended up with a large fanbase. Even later on in his career, he (for unknown reasons) wound up getting asian manufacturers to produce his horn line. These horns from Asia are good horns, but not great. The craftsmanship on them is fine, but not phenomenal. The horn does come laser engraved with many American themes. The neck and bell are both nickel plated and add a nice layer to the overall core sound. While these aren't the B&S stencil horns, these are still a historic sax and well-built even for todays standards. The Dave Guardala has recently gone through our shop for a full adjustment and is playing full-range. All of our pre-owned and new instruments come fully inspected by our in-house repair shop. If you have any questions or would like to make an offer, please feel free to contact us directly at the shop through our phone 713-426-3663 or email wes.hughes@flemingrepair.com
